Fiore: Where My Design Love Bloomed in the Heart of Italy

From a young age, Rachel has been captivated by the silent language of spaces. Walking into a room and instinctively picturing its potential, its transformation, has always been Rachel's passion. While Rachel's career path led her to the world of IT, Rachel's heart consistently yearned for the creative realm of interior design. Home improvement shows, glossy design magazines, and endless online videos became Rachel's constant companions, fueling a fire that wouldn't be extinguished.

This year, Rachel took the leap. Rachel began transforming spaces for friends, family, and acquaintances, turning their visions into tangible realities. Each project was a learning experience, a stepping stone on Rachel's journey to becoming a full-fledged interior designer. The joy of seeing a space come to life, reflecting the personality and needs of its inhabitants, is truly unparalleled.

But there's a deeper, more personal source of inspiration that drives Rachel's design philosophy: Italy. Specifically, Milan.

In 2019, Rachel had the incredible opportunity to live in Milan for seven months. It was a transformative period, a baptism in the vibrant colors, rich culture, and warm spirit of the Italian people. Milan wasn't just a city; it was a living, breathing design masterclass.

The effortless elegance of Italian interiors, the bold use of color, the seamless blend of classic and contemporary – it resonated with Rachel on a profound level. It was there, amidst the cobblestone streets and hidden courtyards, that Rachel's love for design truly bloomed in a new and profound way.

That's why Rachel named her design company "Fiore," the Italian word for flower. It's a tribute to the place where Rachel's design passion blossomed, where Rachel felt a deep connection to the artistry and soul of interior spaces.

What Italian Design Taught Rachel:

  • Embrace Color: Italian design isn't afraid of color. From the warm terracotta hues of Tuscan villas to the vibrant blues of the Amalfi Coast, color is used to create atmosphere and evoke emotion.

  • Mix Old and New: Italians masterfully blend antique pieces with modern design, creating spaces that feel both timeless and contemporary.

  • Focus on Quality: Attention to detail and the use of high-quality materials are paramount in Italian design.

  • Create a Sense of "Familia": Italian homes are designed for gathering and connection. Warmth, comfort, and a welcoming atmosphere are essential.

  • Less is More: While Italians appreciate beauty, they also value functionality. They understand the importance of creating uncluttered, livable spaces.

As Rachel continues to hone her skills and build her portfolio, Rachel carries the spirit of Italian design with her. Rachel strives to create spaces that are not only beautiful but also functional, comfortable, and reflective of the unique personalities of her clients.

Success in interior design requires talent, hard work, and a constant thirst for knowledge. But most importantly, it requires passion. And Rachel's passion, fueled by the inspiration Rachel found in Italy, continues to grow stronger every day.

Rachel invites you to join her on this journey as Rachel brings a touch of Italian elegance and "fiore" to homes and spaces everywhere.
